The easiest way(mostly if you shy) to know a girl is that you find out any availability of hers(etc. facebook,E-mail address) where you can message her. If you don't know her in real life or you just know her from school,job but didn't talk to her yet ,you have to guess what will you write in the first letter. If she answers that a half success, after that it will be easier, but somewhere you have to start it. These are things which you have to guess, that how you solve this problem but I'm sure you have good ideas for it cause if a man really like someone they find the mode to let her know it.
